Re: Is having hardware G-Sync all that important these days? Also, just how big of a problem is burn-in?
Again though, keep OLED VRR flicker in mind; you will get noticeable near-black flicker in any game that doesn't have rock solid frametime performance, so for games that don't, you'll have to use RTSS to limit the framerate to a level your system can sustain on average the majority of the time so t...

Re: Is having hardware G-Sync all that important these days? Also, just how big of a problem is burn-in?
1. I have a 4090 and as such, can take advantage of hardware G-Sync. But does this even matter these days? The DWF variant of this monitor does not have hardware G-Sync (though it supports G-Sync) - am I missing out on anything here? Hardware G-SYNC primarily provides three advantages over equivale...

Is having hardware G-Sync all that important these days? Also, just how big of a problem is burn-in?
I have been learning a lot about the currently available monitors on the market and I find myself being heavily interested in the Alienware AW3423DWF. This monitor seems to be at the top of its class right now. However, two things concern me - 1. I have a 4090 and as such, can take advantage of hard...

Re: How does FreeSync look compared to G-Sync at this point?
@lukeman3000, G-SYNC + Fast Sync acts exactly like G-SYNC + v-sync on within the G-SYNC range (inside max refresh rate of display). There is only a difference between those scenarios when you exceed the G-SYNC range, at which point (with G-SYNC + Fast Sync + no fps limiter), G-SYNC disables, and Fa...

Re: How does FreeSync look compared to G-Sync at this point?
So, long story short, G-Sync is still superior to FreeSync?
Also, I read through the recent G-Sync guides posted (as well as past G-Sync guides) but am still having a bit of trouble understanding the difference between G-Sync+V-Sync and G-Sync+Fast.
Which is preferred in a given scenario and why?

How does FreeSync look compared to G-Sync at this point?
I'm sure this question has been asked ad nauseam but I'm having some difficulty making a determination because of conflicting data. So as of this point in time, which technology is better, and why?
What reasons might I consider for choosing one over the other?

Looking for recommendations for 1440P G-Sync monitor
I currently have a BenQ XL2420G and I like it quite a bit, however, I think I'd like to upgrade to 1440P. To that end I've started to look around, and I'm looking for some opinions on the matter, especially from you guys here at blur busters. What are the current good G-Sync, 1440P monitors? Also I ...

Do you guys ever get occasional flickering/artifacts?
It's a pretty rare occurrence, but maybe once or twice in the span of a few hours while gaming my screen will flicker quickly. Usually I think it's some strange amalgamation of colors/lines - it's hard to tell because it happens so fast - and then it goes right back to the game like nothing happened...

Question about contrast/gamma calibration in games
I have a BenQ XL2420G. It seems like in every single game that has a built-in calibration tool, I can never get the 'barely visible' option to actually be 'barely visible'. On my plasma, I'll adjust the slider until 'barely visible' disappears, then I'll bump it up a notch until it appears and call ...
