Re: I got the ROG Swift (PG278Q) -- my tests
I have a ROG in review and I was new from start there is something wrong going on while gaming. It was difficult to point out, but I think its related to this problem you shown. Here is my result (compared to QNIX) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8S2KkJFFMY&feature=youtu.be Does anyone know the nam...

horizontal is "fine" but vertical shows the delay of rolling shutterChief Blur Buster wrote: Yes, even a 1/4000sec shutter can inject a 1/250sec error (4ms) due to the rolling shutter.

Re: [I'm a reviewer] Quirks measuring input lag of ROG by ca
Thanks for the info about rolling shutter, I knew about it but havent realized that it will affect the test. So I went to search some solution. A CCD camera instead of the CMOS seemed easy. Quickly I found out, that CCD is quite rare, but guess what - I bought a compact camera for my mother and its ...

Re: Precise inputlag measurements revealed disturbing facts
Before I answer more fully, what exposure length did you use for these specific photos, and which model camera did you use? Many cameras have a 1/250sec scanout as flood says, which adds approx 50% error to a 120Hz refresh. Try testing portrait versus landscape as some cameras scan sideways, and se...

Re: Precise inputlag measurements revealed disturbing facts
This is what I was asking about in my main question. If you could enlighten me a bit more in this area I would be grateful. What makes the LCD and CRT scan-out identically? It looks like the GPU is driving all clocks etc. What I originaly though was happening: LCD has internal Clock generator that ...

Re: Precise inputlag measurements revealed disturbing facts
Thanks for elaborate explanation. Also, tearlines are always in identical positions on both LCD and CRT. The scanout is identical top-to-bottom, except for the lack of fade-to-black on a LCD. This is what I was asking about in my main question. If you could enlighten me a bit more in this area I wou...

Re: Precise inputlag measurements revealed disturbing facts
ok, i will level the screens to the same height and shoot with even higher speeds, perhaps 1/4k could do. What do you think? Btw does anyone know how to setup gsync screen and at the same time duplicate to nongsync screen and run a fullscreen app (game) in gsync mode on one screen and just normal no...

Re: Precise inputlag measurements revealed disturbing facts
Hello guys, and thanks for the response. By the way, great job, what you are doing here, I really appreciate it. At first - what do you mean by proper vsync off? I mean, can there be a state between on and off? Anyways I ran the tests at fullscreen and could see actually many tears + times different...

Re: Precise inputlag measurements revealed disturbing facts
nice work what graphics card are you using? i run on gtx680 lightning my camera is nikon dslr D7000 with shutter speed set over 1/1000 about the lcd vs crt synchro - I believe its on the exactly same spot, the fact that 952 fades is just pixel persistence, as well as that the 969 is already scanned...

[I'm a reviewer] Quirks measuring input lag of ROG by camera
Hi there! Recently I received the ASUS ROG Swift for review at PCTuning.cz. I decided to measure also the inputlag of this screen. Since the flash stopwatch/timers are quite a BS I went for my implementation. Done in Qt and OpenGL, it renders around 1000 fps with timer info in milliseconds in column...
