Why does Quake Live look crazy smooth?
I recently got Quake Live, I increased the refresh rate, and capped my fps 2-3 fps below my refresh for G-Sync, and this game looks like it's running ULMB! All my other modern games don't look even close to being this smooth with the same settings. Is it some visual trick, or is it maybe my hardware...

Re: G-Sync ALT+Tab really slow?
I tested this in Overwatch with an in-game resolution of 1080p @144Hz, and a desktop resolution of 1440p @144Hz, G-SYNC + V-SYNC (NVCP) enabled; alt+tabbing out took about 1-2 seconds with a couple of black flashes, same with alt+tabbing in. It must be specific to your configuration/monitor. Do you...

G-Sync ALT+Tab really slow?
I have an issue with when G-Sync is on and my in-game resolution does not match my desktop resolution with my S2417DG. I get horrible alt+tab lag where I sit at a blank screen for like 4-5 seconds, then I hit the desktop and it's like my PC is frozen for another 2-3 seconds when playing Overwatch. F...

Re: Blur Buster's G-SYNC 101 Series Discussion
Alright, thanks guys, you've convinced me. I'm going to give G-Sync another try for a week with the recommended settings in the guide. :D Whether you use G-SYNC all the time or no, the great thing about a G-SYNC display, is you have the option of a standard fixed high refresh rate, G-SYNC, and stro...

Re: Blur Buster's G-SYNC 101 Series Discussion
So I wouldn't need a 400hz screen to see the benefit or a lower ms/f latency when it exceeds my refresh rate as previously mentioned? As stated here before, if you couldn't care less about tearing or microstutter, then just stick with V-SYNC OFF and super high framerates. This will ensure the lowes...

Re: Blur Buster's G-SYNC 101 Series Discussion
Lower frametimes are causing V-SYNC OFF to deliver more updates to the screen per scanout, so in some instances (depending on the V-SYNC OFF refresh rate/framerate ratio), mouse response could theoretically appear to be a little more responsive, as updates are reaching the screen more frequently th...

Re: Blur Buster's G-SYNC 101 Series Discussion
If you had a 400Hz monitor, sure. But there aren't any. On a 144Hz monitor, if you want the frames to be synced, you cannot go higher than 144FPS. But 144FPS on 144Hz synced has too much lag, so you use g-sync with 141FPS to get rid of the lag. Keep in mind that g-sync is for when you do not want t...

Re: Blur Buster's G-SYNC 101 Series Discussion
Isn't there still other forms of lag besides the G-Sync hardware? Wouldn't a cap limit the ms per frame that the game engine can display? So if you're using an uncapped fps in a game, and you can manage something like 400fps, that is 2.5 ms/f of lag per frame. Or more realistic, CSGO engine caps at ...
