Re: 240hz OLED vs 500hz IPS advantages?
Ignoring lag (since most people fighting game questions is about lag, and my reply was about motion quality), it will still be the same order item 2 and 3. Now since your question was about fighting games -- if you're talking about latency -- the one with the faster max Hz, will generally have lowe...

Do 2. and 3. still hold the same spot when used at their max Hz with G-Sync enabled but with a 60 FPS locked game like a fighting game?Chief Blur Buster wrote: ↑09 Aug 2023, 20:19
So it goes like this.
1. 360Hz ULMB2
2. 240Hz OLED without strobe
3. 360Hz LCD without strobe

Re: Questions about PG27AQDM longevity
The answer is simple: Will you have enough money saved up to buy another monitor if burn-in occurs within 2-3 years? if the answer is no then don't buy an OLED for desktop usage. No one knows in general what OLED longevity will be, I think it's going to be a mixture of potluck/panel lottery and how...

Re: Questions about PG27AQDM longevity
Does the ambient temperature play a role in terms of burn-in risk? For example here in Asia, a room temperature of 28 C to 30 C (82F to 86F) isn't uncommon, does running an OLED panel in this environment accelerate the burn-in process in OLEDs or does it depend solely on how varied the displayed con...

Re: Questions about PG27AQDM longevity
On max brightness, noticeable degradation over 3+ years is about as likely as it is for LCD. As for IR/burn-in, can't say. What I can say is the PG27AQDM uses the latest generation LG WOLED, which is proven to be more burn-in resistant than QD-OLED, and the most IR/burn-in resistance WOLED thus far...

Re: Questions about PG27AQDM longevity
The monitor costs well more than $1300 where I am from and we don't have Best Buy for burn in protection, add on top of that that no one but Corsair with their very low SDR brightness cover burn-in in their warranty which makes me worried that they might not even last more than 2 years without suffe...

How to send output to two monitors using a single PC for a side by side comparison?
I'll have two monitors sent to me and want to compare between them side by side before keeping one, the first monitor is 240Hz and the other is 360Hz and both have a resolution of 1440p. I have only 1 PC and want to send signal to both of them simultaneously like this so I can easily compare the exp...

Re: 240hz OLED vs 500hz IPS advantages?
(C) Even when the 360Hz LCD outperforms, you need to pay more to upgrade your GPU to allow 360fps instead of 240fps. If your existing GPU can only do 240fps, then a 240Hz OLED still outperforms the 360Hz LCD "at the same frame rates". To add on to your point, fighting games which are very competiti...

Re: 240hz OLED vs 500hz IPS advantages?
240Hz OLED already has less motion blur than 360Hz IPS LCD. So Hz-for-Hz, OLED has about a 1.5x to 2x advantage over LCD. If you dislike strobing, and want "least blur per frametime", then OLED is the best performer. Removed from significant GtG bottlenecks, 240fps on OLED pretty much follows Blur ...

Questions about PG27AQDM longevity
I have a questions regarding the type of OLED panel found in the Asus PG27AQDM. I'll probably use the monitor everyday from 8 to 16 hours for gaming (FPS and Fighting Games) and browsing without hiding the address bar and not planning to baby sit the monitor apart from running the pixel cleaning stu...
