Dropped frames in video playback when enabling HAGS

After doing all sort of tests, with both MPC-BE and PotPlayer, and all possible combinations of video decoders (MPC, Built-in, LAV, etc) and video renderers ( EVR, Direct3D 9 and 11, MadVR, MPC ) I * always * suffer dropped frames in video playback if I have HAGS enabled ( Windows 11 23H2 Build 2263...

Re: RTSS Scanline Sync HOWTO

It varies. It's usually in the top of the screen, not very big. I move it and it disappears. Then at certain places it appears again. I move it further until it disappears and keep going. Then I find another place where it shows up again... and so on and so on. Until it reaches a point where it sta...

Re: RTSS Scanline Sync HOWTO

I wonder if that 3d effect software is the issue here. Try running it natively without all the 3d effects. I already tested disabling all the effects, but it's the same. SuperDepth3D is just a shader, it doesn't affect at all the resolution or the refresh rate, frametimes or anything frame related ...

Re: RTSS Scanline Sync HOWTO

50Hz and 60Hz. I managed to get it working, but every time there are frametime inconsistencies/spikes tearing appears again all over the screen. Switch to front edge or back edge sync in RTSS settings and set a frame limit that EXACTLY matches your refresh rate in addition to enabling scanline sync...

Re: RTSS Scanline Sync HOWTO

Keep the vertical resolution the same. What needs to be done is increasing the vertical total and making sure that increases the vbi. Try using the vertical total calculator option. What's the refresh rate you're aiming for? 50Hz and 60Hz. I managed to get it working, but every time there are frame...

Re: RTSS Scanline Sync HOWTO

Just read on a reddit post that this only works when GPU load is under around 70%. That when GPU load is above 70% tearing will reappear, is this normal then?

Re: RTSS Scanline Sync HOWTO

I'm trying to use this method, but when trying to move the tearline outside the screen... it just immediately appears on the other side. I ise Ctrl+Shift+Down to move it out the screen and it just appears on the top... so there is always a visible tearline either at the bottom of the screen or at th...

Re: Blur Busters Custom Resolution (CRU) Glossary 101 / FAQ

Best to abuse the 3D mode, force 3D mode even if you only use 2D, and you'll get 120Hz for 2D... There is no 120Hz mode listed in the EDIDs. According to the manual, 720p is the only 60Hz mode with Framepacking (not sure if this is the same as Frame Sequential) https://i.imgur.com/jcKAIhO.png But t...

Re: Blur Busters Custom Resolution (CRU) Glossary 101 / FAQ

Looks like this is probably a dead end at this stage. Other tweaks would probably require too much advanced hacking. It is mainly newer display technologies that are QFT-tolerant. Seems like overclocking DLP projectors is much more succesful. Don't know why the Epson 3-LCD tech is so tight with ref...
