Personally, I'm interested in settings for the HDMI port while using a console, so without the ability to use .icc profiles.

1? You mean on the S-Switch? The S-Switch doesn't work in GSYNC mode...

The problem is that many games don't really offer the opportunity to cap FPS internally. My question, then: is RSS good enough in all those remaining games, and did NVIDIA fix their driver level frame limiter?

Well in some games it is a gamechanger, just that the games I was hoping it would have a beneficial impact with wasn't to be the case.
