Re: XL2720Z vs XL2720G
The G has G-Sync, the Z doesn't. Is there really anything else that has to be said? I can't see a reason why someone would not want G-Sync. The XL2720G looks like it will be my next monitor. My old (but trusty) Samsung XL2370 has to hold on for a while yet.

Re: Need 1000fps@1000Hz for 1ms persistence without strobing
This is pretty much the core of my question. So the answer is, the same effects that happen with low FPS on high refresh CRTs also happen on strobed high refresh LCDs?Chief Blur Buster wrote:The same problem occurs on a 120Hz CRT, too.

Re: Need 1000fps@1000Hz for 1ms persistence without strobing
Guys, I don't mean 30Hz. I mean 30FPS. Playing at 30FPS with a 120Hz mode and with VSync enabled was always sharp. Why can't the same thing happen with, say, Light Boost? What's the difference? Or I am understanding this wrongly? *Is* there actually any blur when playing a 30FPS game on a 120Hz moni...

Re: Vsync off without fps cap VS Vsync off with fps cap
Note that the tickrate of 10 in BF doesn't mean you get input lag. That's just how many times the game state is synced with the server. Input happens at whatever FPS you get.

Re: Need 1000fps@1000Hz for 1ms persistence without strobing
There's still something I don't fully understand in regards to strobing and persistence. These methods are intended to make persistent displays behave like CRTs. Why is FPS important? Back in the CRT days, games had the same problems we have today; they often would fall below the vertical frequency ...

Re: Best way to test display lag?
Maybe you can get away with just one computer, but with two identical mice. Each mouse will give you a different cursor Unless you're using some sort of special program you only get one cursor no matter how many mice you connect. Hm, never tested it on Windows. On Linux you get two cursors. Maybe i...

Re: EXCLUSIVE: We measure G-SYNC Input Lag in GSYNC Preview
V-Sync behavior when Hz is maxed out? This doesn't bode well for 60Hz G-Sync monitors, does it? :-/ A test with "fps_max 144" would have been a good idea, I think.

Here's a suggestion for the Chief: do an article about input lag with SLI vs single GPU

Re: DDC/CI Software Backlight Strobing?
Also, you would need hard real-time requirements on the OS side to do it with software. Neither Windows, nor Mac nor Linux can do that.
