Re: "Eve Spectrum" - 1440p 240hz 1ms IPS Monitor (LG Panel)
Oh, I'm so glad I came to look here for this! I put down $100 for one of these monitors, but if it's going to have the slow red phosphor issue I will definitely cancel. I actually came to see if there was any possibility that the Spectrum would acquire one of the coveted Blur Busters Approved certif...

Re: There are no good monitors!
I went over to RAGEPRO's place today to play with his new LG. To be clear, it is the 24GM79G-B. He has it set up alongside his LG 24UD58 and his two AOC M2060SWD2s. (I also have two of those! $74 clearance at Walmart!) (*'▽') Honestly, I was pretty disappointed in the picture quality. We spent about...

Re: There are no good monitors!
One possibility is the LG24GM79 -- but the LG24GM77 had pretty bad strobe crosstalk. Hopefully LG fixed their strobing in newer LG models... (I'd love to hear from others first, though). I think this is the monitor RAGEPRO's been looking at. If he gets one I'll go over there and fool around with it...

Re: There are no good monitors!
Currently, we've recorded all known strobed displays here . Yah, I've been working off that list, hehe. ('ω') Although also doing my own research, but it doesn't appear you've missed any. So one option is wait for Samsung to fix the purple issue (if it's a firmware issue). I was hoping Samsung woul...

Re: There are no good monitors!
They do have the best panels though. Not sure what's up with this specific panel, but traditionally, Samsung panels were always considered free of "panel lottery" issues. I think the issue with this monitor has to do with the control hardware rather than the panel. For some people (not me, but my f...

Re: There are no good monitors!
Check out the stats reported for the samsung C27HG70. It is 600 [EDIT: its 550 now] bucks so brace yourself but you aren't going to find a significant upgrade from the vg248qe (in terms of gaming) without spending at least 400. Well actually, the Samsung C24FG70 that I mentioned in the first post i...

Re: There are no good monitors!
Thanks for your reply! Unfortunately... (ノー`) Well, the Predator, AG271QG, and PG279Q are all really expensive. (The Samsung C24FG70 is only $280!) But more than that, they don't actually meet the requirements anyway. Even if we ignore the high-contrast requirement, their strobing mode comes from UL...

There are no good monitors!
My best friend and I both purchased Samsung CFG70 monitors earlier in the year, and both of us went through multiple repairs and replacements before finally getting refunds. It seems like these monitors are fundamentally broken in design and they simply don't work. Besides us, many people have repor...

Re: Acer XG270HU ULMB mode?
No, there's no motion blur reduction of any kind. From the TFTCentral review http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/acer_xg270hu.htm : Unfortunately there is no Blur Reduction mode available from this screen so you are not able to reduce perceived motion blur further using a strobe backlight. See the ...

Acer XG270HU ULMB mode?
Is it possible to enable any kind of strobing display or low-motion-blur mode on the XG270HU (the FreeSync version of the XB270HU)?
