Re: Questions about CRT degradation and image restore

Hmmm... best deal I can find for the DTP-94 is about 50/60€, I'll think about it. Yes, darker colors get crushed and white is too dim, there is not enough difference between the darkest black and the lightest white. Anyway I kind of compensated setting color to expert and playing around with gain an...

Re: Questions about CRT degradation and image restore

Thanks, so using color return frequently won't do any harm. I don't really have a problem getting good black but to get it color luminance becomes too low. I was aware of your guide, but unfortunately I don't have 200€ to spend on a colorimeter. I guess I can try with naked eye and see if I get bett...

Questions about CRT degradation and image restore

I have an IBM P260 CRT monitor and I after some time using it I'm noticing how contrast not so good compared to my dell LCD. The monitor was made in 1999, is it just the age doing this? Is it a matter of the crt degrading or the phosphors? I've read about methods of "rejuvenating" the crt that, whil...

Re: Nvidia or AMD for competitive gaming ?

mat_queue_mode handles how many processor cores are utilized by the engine. Do you mean when pre-render is set to 1 and queue mode utilizes all cores available for threading (mat_queue_mode 2), each thread can store one pre-rendered frame? Would explain induced input lag with multicore rendering, b...

Re: Nvidia or AMD for competitive gaming ?

In regards to what shish_KEbOB said about pre-rendering, it does sound reasonable that NVIDIA compromises response for raw frame rate performance by utilising more data queuing than AMD. That would at least be in line with their "frame pacing" technique that compromises response for frame frequency...

Re: Nvidia or AMD for competitive gaming ?

CS:GO has pretty bad network interpolation. What you see is not what's happening. Nice video explaination: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbXtXMmgKOc About AMD vs nVidia you'll find people swearing by both sides having less inputlag. There is too much subjectivity and fanboyism involved, we'll have...

Re: Input lag AB test

Nifty little program, thanks! My suggestion would be to add geometric shapes in the background to have some reference point. I find that doing the same movement repeatedly loses effectiveness with repetition. Your brain just gets used to it and you can't tell the difference anymore. I find myself co...
