Re: Where can I get 6-10" high-refresh displays/touchscreens
I work for a manufacturer (automotive supplier) and we're just getting started with displays. So, maybe I'm jumping in the deep end before I learn to swim. I just know from my experience in using high refresh rate displays, it makes a big difference in how responsive and smooth the system feels If a...

Where can I get 6-10" high-refresh displays/touchscreens?
I'm aiming to make an embedded system and I want to have a high refresh rate. Basically a tablet sized display (I'd like to aim for 7" 16:9 but would be ok with anything at this point, just for a PoC). There's 15-17" laptops with 120-144hz (though it isn't clear if they actually have touchscreens on...

Re: New iPad has 120Hz + Multiple Refresh Rate!
They finally listened to me, I told them years ago to do 120, you’re welcome ;) I have been playing around with the new Pro 12.9. Everything feels faster, even opening apps, because of that 16ms -> 8ms refresh rate difference (and they probably also cut down the input lag to match). Scrolling is pre...

Re: Any signs of 4k+ 16:10 Monitors coming?
I like 16:10. My first flat panel was a 16:10. Very versatile aspect ratio - enough room to display 16:9 content and have the chrome for subtitles and buttons and such. Enough height to have two portrait documents side by side fill the screen without having to scroll. 16:9 is cool too. Speaking of c...

Re: Here's a real example of a 1000hz display... I think
It'd be pretty neat to have 1000hz with 1ms response time. I wish mobile vendors would get a move on cranking up the refresh rate and lowering the motion blur. There's so much talk about how high the PPI is or how accurate the colors are, but it doesn't amount to much in the end if it all goes to he...

Re: G-Sync: One Year Later
Yeah, it never seemed to lock in to any particular framerate no matter what I have the settings set to during Gsync. At 144 it would bounce between 137 and 142; at 120 it would bounce between 117 and 121. Weird. I set the com_maxfps to 125 (while still at 144hz) and movement while turning the mouse ...

Re: G-Sync: One Year Later
I just tried Gsync on Quake Live at 144hz (com_maxfps 250) and there was this terrible mouse driven stuttering. Like, if I'm walking straight through a hallway or just strafing through without turning, no biggie, it's smooth. But when I'm turning, I can see a very distinct stutter. It was bad enough...

Re: News on the ROG Swift (PG278Q)
How can I tell what the testufo tests are supposed to look like on a good monitor? On the inversion test I get some pink and green tinting, and on the ghosting test I see some faint impressions of the UFO trailing behind it (same effect on some of the moving photo tests). Other than that it all look...

Re: News on the ROG Swift (PG278Q)
This monitor is my first >60hz experience since my last CRT monitor (a 19" KDS monitor - could do 150hz at 640x480, or 60hz at 2048x1536 :P) I am coming from using my 2010 iMac 27" as my primary monitor (it has a miniDP input). Given that the iMac is IPS and the ROG Swift is TN, I knew going in that...
