Re: Acer Nitro XV242F (540hz TN) discussion

I used the monitor for a while and in fact the brightness is not as low as I said with vrb activated, the conclusion is that the big difference is ... fact that I forgot to mention is that this panel has a strange coating, it looks grainy and you can see the pixels, something I don't see on the 256...

Re: Acer Nitro XV242F (540hz TN) discussion

Thanks for your thoughts about the monitor! I'm surprised about the VRB brightness since I had to use the 390hz model with VRB off because of the low brightness. The 390hz IPS with VRB on strongest was a comfortable brightness level for me. That's where I set my monitors even without strobing etc a...

Re: Acer Nitro XV242F (540hz TN) discussion

So first impressions, I wasn't blown away by the strobing, I mean it's the best I've ever seen but you can still see crosstalk in the top portion of the screen at speeds 1400+ on UFO test. I was expecting that aspect to be better but from what I've seen it's no worse than the other 540hz panels. Wha...

Re: New Zowie Monitor 540Hz XL2586X

XV242F has a DSC on/off switch. If I turn it off I can only use the display in YCbCr422 colour mode though. The Asus has a DSC switch also. Unfortunate its not possible to overclock the 540 ASUS monitor in CRU so the switch is kinda useless. The idea was to overlock the 360hz to 480hz If u know how...

32GS95UE 480hz OLED

LG have announced an OLED capable of doing 480hz at 1080p. I can't paste the link, so just Google 32GS95UE. I'm assuming this works by having each refresh use an alternating pixel, essentially overlapping two 240hz 1080p outputs. If that's the case, I'd expect this would also achieve a BFI -like inc...
