I've tried both, and I would say it is noticeable, but less so than jumping from 60 to 96. You mean you have played around with frequency but not this specific monitor? TFTcentral actually did a review and it got high marks in a lot of areas but this part makes me think the op should reconsider. ht...

Honestly I don't see the inability to use ULMB at 120hz as not a big deal. What made me excited for ULMB over lightboost is that the barrier to getting near zero motion blur was lowered from 100fps minimum to 85 fps minimum. With ULMB attained on an IPS panel the only thing that could be better now ...
