Very nostradamus, very nostradamus. On par with my Arduino Scanning Backlight, in the pre-LightBoost2D-era. I correctly foresaw the era of strobe backlights, and look at where we are today (LightBoost, EIZO Turbo240, BENQ Blur Reduction).

Re: Input Lag of Strobe Backlights

Interesting...I never thought LightBoost would contribute to input lag. Do you know why it does? I assumed that backlight strobing was independant from drawing the frame, but I guess not? In any case, 4ms shouldn't be perceivable, so that's good to know. That is because the monitor is being refresh...

Re: Alternative scanning methods

What would the best alternative scan method be? It is still probably faster sequential scan, taken from a fast packet transmission cable (DisplayPort, which can theoretically transmit a 1080p 4:2:2 frame in only 2.3 milliseconds if using both channels) until we do random access refreshing or other ...

Re: Alternative scanning methods

So if I understand correctly, all current displays scan images from top to bottom. This is a relic left over from the old analog CRT days and was kept for backwards compatibility reasons. Is it possible to scan the entire image/frame all at once? Is anyone working on alternative scan methods? Would...

Re: Optimal mouse DPI setting for 120 hz display 1080p

That's true...high DPI would definitely be more useful for high sensitivity gaming, since you're reliant on very small and precise movements to be accurate. The silver lining is that a mouse that has accurate high DPI, will also be accurate at low DPI too. At least that is how it has normally turne...

Re: Optimal mouse DPI setting for 120 hz display 1080p

As for in-game sensitivity, it depends. Lower sensitivity will result in greater precision, but less mobility. For CS:GO, my personal preference is to have 1 full swipe accross the mousepad to equate to 270 degrees in game, which I feel is a good balance between precision and mobility. I am somewha...

Re: Optimal mouse DPI setting for 120 hz display 1080p

Really depends on the game though. If you're talking quick bullet hose/hitscan shooters with low TTK (CS, CoD), then the advice is pretty good. High TTK games that involve tons of left hand input in combat with a combination of hitscan and projectile weapons (Tribes, Q3A, Warsow), then you'll almos...

Re: Subforum addition

I agree! We're being very careful not to be "one of those forums" that has 20 empty topics of 0 posts each, so we'd rather get busy first before we split-up the topics. Busy forums are more fun! Know what I mean? :-) We'll do this soon enough -- probably early 2014, likely. For now, we're not enforc...

Re: Eizo FG2421

This panel looks really good, and i do enjoy lightboost at time but hate the color degradation so i end up using plain 144hz mode more often. If this monitor wasnt so expensive i mightve gotten it but the price of the VG248QE was too good and it offers a lot as well This is true, the Eizo FG2421 is...

Thanks for the impressive submission! On the subject, I'd love to see a new thread about your exploits (either technology or the non-technology, or both).
