I have the same monitor, G-sync has been working perfectly in the pendulum demo and games for a few weeks now. My system: i7-3770K 16 GB ram GTX 970 SLI Win 7 Pro. On the newest NVidia drivers, the v-sync setting in NVCP works differently when G-sync is enabled: v-sync will only activate when your framerate exceeds your monitor's max refresh rate. While it certainly sounds like you have properly enabled v-sync, the fact that you are seeing framerates in the 40's and 50's is proof that V-sync is not active. With v-sync working on a monitor with fixed refresh of 60 Hz, you will only ever see framerates of 60, 30, 20, 15, etc. That's fundamental...
