Re: HALL OF SHAME: List of games with locked frame rates (60

Dark Souls 2 is limited to 60 Hz (Dark Souls 1 was limited to 30 Hz ...).

Durante has written a new toolset for downsampling/postpressesing injection, wich MIGHT lead to a 120 Hz mode (I didn't had time to test it yet).

Re: Motion Blur From Display Persistence: 60Hz/120Hz/Strobed

Just thinking: Since the blur is depending on the "pixel/second motion", shouldn't the motion blur effect much more pronounced on a Oculus DK2 screen, since you look at much less pixel with the attached lenses?

Re: What will Facebook do with Oculus?

The sh*tstorm over at reddit and other forums where totally overblown, since people projected their own unspecific fears about Facebook onto this acquisition. This is mostly because nearly nobody understood what Facebook could possibly want from OculusVR or VR in general. But it's quiet funny, becau...

Re: Facebook to Acquire OculusVR

I don't think that Facebook will dilute the vision of OculusVR in the short-run. They just invested 2B+ and won't just release a product that serves as a Facebook ad-delivery terminal or a FarmVileVR client. I really don't share the pessimism that floats around in the internet right now. Hopefully O...

Re: Lack of G-Sync on Oculus Rift

Btw, I'm wondering, what do you see on a CRT or strobed LCD? On my 60Hz LCD (obviously non-strobed), looking at the top UFO results in me seeing vertical bars. They are perfectly stable and stationary for the duration of each cycle (for as long as I can fixate my eyes perfectly without moving them;...

Re: Moving from CRT to Eizo FG2421 [EIZO's strobed monitor]

For example, it has been shown that musicians can detect a difference between a 50ms continuous tone, and a 57.6 ms continuous tone (see table 1: http://www.iapsych.com/iqclock2/LinkedDocuments/rammsayer2006.pdf ). That shows that they are sensitive to differences as small as around 7 ms in that pa...

Re: Moving from CRT to Eizo FG2421 [EIZO's strobed monitor]

The thing about input lag isn't that you feel it. It's that it hurts you even if you don't feel it at all. On LAN, where network latency is almost non-existent, the reaction times of the players are of paramount importance, and those reaction times are pretty close together. On average, the guy wit...

Re: Moving from CRT to Eizo FG2421 [EIZO's strobed monitor]

Thanks for your feedback! Where did you get your EIZO? I did get my EIZO from Amazon Germany. It seems that the monitor came from a EIZO distribution center in Düsseldorf and was send via air from Japan before that. At 18ms, the added lag against a zero buffered display such as VG248QE in non-Light...

Re: Moving from CRT to Eizo FG2421 [EIZO's strobed monitor]

Got my Eizo Foris last week, after coming from a Dell 2407 WFP the lag and motion blur reduction is really nice. I didn't felt any added lag in Turbo240 mode yet, but I find this topic kinda hard to "discuss" with some people. Input lag is a problem for sure, but I'm not sure when the threshold is r...
