Re: Youtube on XP = tearing. Fix?
Thx guys. :) I explained why I want to use XP now; apart from that it's just arbitrary that some "apps-we-got-used-to" stopped getting updates. DirectX staying at 10.x is just evil corporate strategy. Both have nothing to do with usability, functionality, performance, security. I.e. we could all be ...

Youtube on XP = tearing. Fix?
I thought I'd ask here too. Findings: 1. XP did videos (and dragging windows on the desktop, first test ;) ) fine (without tearing) when I last used it. 2. Now I got a 2012 graphics card to hot it up a little, and it doesn't. 3. "It's cos you use DVI/HDMI instead of VGA." Too bad the graphics card d...

Re: What's the best FPS limiter these days?
Still looking for a framerate capper that will allow me to cap at the maximum Hz of my monitor for all games. Is there a trick with RTSS that I'm missing?? (Regarding the Global option there...) Else I guess I'll use RTSS & just have to slog through adding game after game since DXtory crashes my fa...

Re: G-Sync and ULMB at the same time is in fact possible!
<monitor hackers> Hackers/Engineers, there's ways of massively improving the image quality of strobed variable refresh rate operation (eliminating the most problematic flicker artifacts/brightness modulation artifacts). For monitor hackers and engineers (the kinds who's been able to design high-ref...

Re: ULMB works fine on monitor, still not happy...?
Well, the blur reduction makes the UFO less blurry. Thing is, when I went 60 Hz, 60 FPS, ULMB on it only fixed the contours of distant objects when I looked around. It didn't really improve the scene, Vsync on or off. This might be my own imagined expectations, of course. But it looked the same as o...

ULMB works fine on monitor, still not happy...?
So I got a monitor that I can't really fault. I did make (IMO) a proper effort of selection and reading up on G-Sync and ULMB/Lightboost/Blur reduction. Now I found out that any blur reduction just removes strong-contrast blur of contours. And that it won't remove the "general big blur" that I wante...

Also, the "Global" option does nothing. Not even if the game isn't on the list. Not saying there's a bug exactly, but really the option shouldn't be there as you think you're setting an override for all DX/OGL games.

Re: Got the S2716DG today, any tweaks?
I'll reply top to bottom. Appreciate your detailed answer :) Ignore ICC+Gamma : so I was right and Windows is a separate calibration. Not because games have in-game options for it, but because games open their own OGL/DX buffer and it's up to the game to allow settings and up to the driver maker to ...

Got the S2716DG today, any tweaks?
PMs seem to end up in the Outbox and not ending up in Sent messages like the other PMs did, so I thought I'd ask out loud. :) I've calibrated it by way of ICC profile+OSD settings from TFTCentral. A world of difference :) (Basically the brightness was just too high.) Anyway, lagom.nl has the gamma a...
