Re: XF252Q Up on Amazon!
Open: Overshoot is error. Average, min, and max are transition times. They're two different categories showing two different things. It's possible to have low response times without any error. Error makes those data points much, much less valuable for the sake of seeing a clear picture. Overshoot/u...

Re: XF252Q Up on Amazon!
TFT did measure overshoot. The ave is higher and the peak is higher. Range and ave together give a good enough idea about how the monitor will feel in terms of responsiveness. I think the point is that if you have ever used a really good display in terms of persistence and response, then you underst...

Re: XF252Q Up on Amazon!
Variance is the longest transition in relation to the shortest. You assume that anyone has to look this up? ok... Somehow you dont understand that when I was talking about overshoot, I was talking about overshoot. Yes that's right. I was talking about variation in response times in one sentence and ...

Re: XF252Q Up on Amazon!
The variation is about 20% lower so its an even lower upgrade in that regard vs the 24% reduction in ave response time. And the overshoot looks about the same. Overshoot would be significantly worse if you went by the smaller sample range that they actually computed an average from. With the larger ...

Re: XF252Q Up on Amazon!
If anyone gets this monitor please list all strobing related options for us. The tft review makes it look like the settings let you have a little control over strobe length and that's it. Looks like the average response improvement is not as good as I had hoped. It puts it on par with the best tn pa...

Re: Help - 1080 Ti and XG2703-GS problems
First thing is always to bring up some monitoring utilities. Hwinfo is great. I usually use the graphs on intel xtu and gpuz. You can see if the cpu or gpu are bottlenecking or hitting some downclocking conditions or if everything is working properly with them. I know its hard but try to remember ev...

Re: What makes 240hz better than 144hz for competitive?
240hz opens up the possibliity to use trigger timing based aiming. Sweeping and clicking at the right moment. IMO 144hz is not fast enough for this. As well there is variation from monitor to monitor. A good 144hz tn will still compete well with 240hz. If you are in the market I would wait and see i...

Re: AMD Radeon AntiLag
it is possible that amds implementation forces the work que to lower values in more situations that nvidias. with potentially positive or negative results. i could see games that que graphics workloads internally increasing input lag this way.
would be nice to test it in a handful of games.

Re: Interesting project about mouse/ gamepad latency
However, I think one of the reasons I ignored VR was that the low focus distance causes disorientation, not just latency alone. One of the purposes of the lesnses is to increase the focal distance of the screen. It is still relatively close but a nearsighted friend still prefers glasses when using ...
