Re: 4k at 120hz+ impossible with current gpu's?
Indeed, pointless. Moreover, by the time 120Hz 4k displays are out, I daresay the 290x will be very long in the tooth. In other words, don't expect this for at least another couple years

Re: The only 3 currently known AHVA monitors. 2015 is THE ye
Where are you getting the 4ms figure from? The panel database on TFTCentral's website says 12ms... The product manual from the Acer says 4ms, but that's presumably only after massive overdrive has been applied. Then again, that manual also clearly says IPS instead of AHVA, so I'm still waiting for d...

I don't think any of us took the 1ms figure seriously. I suspect Tom's etc. were mixing up specs from that XG model

Acer announces 144hz IPS 1440p G-SYNC! [XB270HU, XG270HU]
Photo from manual: https://mobile.twitter.com/TFTCentral/status/568676574557552640/photos GTG response time has magically gone from 1ms to 4ms (SHOCKING, right?) and I bet even that is only when the 'extreme' overdrive is enabled Oh yeah, in case there were still any doubting Thomases, it also says ...

Re: MonoPrice Monitor 30" 2560x1600 @ 120hz
Ha! I KNEW it wasn't going to be native 120Hz.
A guaranteed 120Hz OC is nice, but 749 is overpriced given the 27" 2560x1440 equivalents on the market, IMHO

Monitors with both G-Sync & Freesync support
There are none so far. NV has said it has no plans to support FS, I recall. FS is AMD tech, though it is based on an open specification (Adaptive Sync) that NV could support - if they wanted to - via DP 1.2a The G-Sync 'licensing' isn't quite the issue. Rather, NV wants to support its own proprietar...

Best console monitor
AFAIK, to use ULMB during console gaming, you'd need a monitor that strobes at 60Hz...and that would likely flicker a lot.
I think you should just get a regular (60 Hz, HDMI) monitor with low input lag and fast response time measurements, to be honest...
