No its not a placebo , windows creation usb tool makes mouse movement sucks
There's more than one windows usb creation tool. There's one for Windows 7 you can still find online that creates MBR boot images. Then the 8.1 and 10 ones downloaded from microsoft probably create dual-install MBR or GPT (don't remember).
Using Rufus to create boot media, even if you select MBR mode only, it still creates multiple partitions for GPT install on the USB stick. It then fails to launch from the boot menu inside the BIOS but will boot by F8. So, if anything, Rufus is probably doing something wrong instead of right compared to other installers.

Yeah , I assumed its win10 windows usb creation tool vs rufus
Btw on my friends asus H610 " launch efi shell from usb " option wont let me boot with a warning that says secure boot is enabled , even tho its disabled
Booting the stick with boot menu or F8 works and lead no problems in shell

Try deleting secure boot keys in BIOS

Makes me wonder what the difference is between an original Windows 7 boot from a purchased CD, and a rufus to usb install, and if we can emulate the original way?

Since I install via MBR mode I've always used win 7 USB stick creator for everything including Windows 10.

Is there actually a difference between this and Rufus MBR?
Also is that the actual name? I found “Windows 7 usb dvd download tool”, assuming that’s it

Funny thing is that I thought I would be forced off MBR/CSM over to GPT when I bought a 7800xt in order to use things like rebar. Then it seemed like mouse movement was better with above 4g decoding turned off when I was testing things out, so can’t say I really miss it.
It seems the setting is not very popular turned on for a large amount of non-casual players as well, but YMMV on that research. I haven’t put in the time to test GPT + CSM Off + rebar on yet, though. Probably won’t be much difference than MBR + Above 4g decoding on since I believe that’s all you need to get the benefits of rebar under Linux (but need GPT + CSM OFF + rebar on to get rebar ‘benefits’ in Windows).
