Hello Blurbusterers,
I am trying to get best performance from my deathadder v3 wired using 8khz and my EVGA z15 using 4khz. I have gone down the rabbit hole of usbtreeview and HWInfo64 to track down the best USB port for this... but now I am to a point of mislabeled usb chaos.
I am using an ASUS TUF Gaming B650-PUS Wifi. After referencing my manuals IO legend and cross referencing usbtreeview and HWInfo64 some serious mismatching is going on. I plugged my mouse into each non usb c port and here are the results cross referencing the manual. (image below)
My main questions are:
1) What the heck?
2) Would using CPU USB 3.1 Controller 0 have any benefit over using CPU 3.1 USB Controller 1
3) Would using CPU USB 2.0 Controller have any benefit because its on its completely own PCIe GPP Bridge
4) Would putting my 8khz mouse on CPU USB 2.0 lose performance
5) Would putting my 4khz Keyboard on CPU USB 2.0 lose performance
6) Would putting my 4khz keyboard on CPU USB 2.0 and 8khz Mouse on CPU USB 3.1 Controller 0 benefit both or can I put Mouse on CPU USB 3.1 Controller 0 and put my keyboard on CPU USB 3.1 Controller 1 with no loss in performance even on the same PCIe GPP bridge
7) What the heck?
Thanks

Re: Mislabled USB Ports Chaos and General Questions
put all devices in chipset usb controller.
put ONLY mouse in cpu usb controller.
what problem?
if you have usb 2.0 cpu, nice, connect mouse to it.

Re: Mislabled USB Ports Chaos and General Questions
Lowest slot of USB1, highest USB3 on CPU, only the mouse.
The rest into chipset.
The rest into chipset.
CPU: AMD R7 5800x3D ~ PBO2Tuner -30 ~ no C states
RAM: Gskill Bdie 2x16gb TridentZ Neo ~ CL16-16-16-36 1T ~ fine tuned latency
GPU: ASUS TUF 3080 10G OC Edition(v1/non-LHR) ~ disabled Pstates ~ max oced
OS: Fine tuned Windows 10 Pro, manual tuned.
Monitor: Alienware AW2521H ~ mix of ULMB/Gsync @ 240hz/360hz

Re: Mislabled USB Ports Chaos and General Questions
I read that USB 2.0 limits to .125ms polling rate. Wouldnt that mean that the mouses polling rate get losts choosing which polling point on the .125ms possibilities. Similar to having more FPS than a monitor can handle. Wouldnt I be missing out a uniformed mouse polling with that limitation over having it on a point to point USB 3.0 port? Can you help me understand why USB 2.0 is preferred? I have a wired mouse.
Sorry im a bit confused are you saying lowest slot or highest slot for mouse and then keyboard on chipset?
Re: Mislabled USB Ports Chaos and General Questions
Is it normal to have USB ports so mislabeled and is USBtreeview and HWInfo true confirmation of what a port is?
Re: Mislabled USB Ports Chaos and General Questions
Personally, I prefer USB 2.0 ports, despite what people say, there isn’t really a right or wrong here, what might sound best on paper might not necessarily control/feel the best, I would personally have the mouse on USB 2.0, then KB/any other device on a separate controller
Re: Mislabled USB Ports Chaos and General Questions
if you have 1000hz polling rate mouse you need usb 1.1 port (full speed)aaza wrote: ↑22 Dec 2023, 16:26

if you have 2000hz + mouse you need usb 2.0 port (high speed)
i dont know what is limitations about usb 2.0
in dont know any usb 3.0 mouse.
you need make ONLY MOUSE IN CPU CONTROLLER. another devices like keyboard, mic, dac need in chipset.
ONLY MOUSE IN CPU, NOTHING MORE
