Crossfire on = input lag?
Crossfire on = input lag?
is this true that setting crossfire on my 295x2 will give me some input lag?
Re: Crossfire on = input lag?
Hypothetically(with perfect scaling), the input lag doesn't significantly change from a single GPU at the same settings, but you have way more input lag than a single GPU at the same framerate, because of AFR.Eyalcsgo wrote:is this true that setting crossfire on my 295x2 will give me some input lag?
Also, is that 2x or 4x crossfire? the 295 is a dual GPU card.
If you prioritize input lag over looking pretty, crossfire/sli is a bad idea.
Re: Crossfire on = input lag?
probably yes, due to afr and various framerate stabilizing crap associated with sli/crossfire
if you can run csgo >200fps without crossfire then dont use it

Re: Crossfire on = input lag?
I've found EVERY game to be more responsive with a single card.
I had SLI 670's and I technically downgraded to a 780Ti to avoid SLI issues and weird lag.

Re: Crossfire on = input lag?
Does anybody know if mantle/dx12 will help reduce input lag?
I'm currently using mantle in bf4 with a 7990 and it feels very responsive at 100-120fps (no vsync, 1000hz mouse), can't really compare it with dx11 since i'm getting lower fps with it.

Re: Crossfire on = input lag?
input lag is 5% magic and 95% fps dependent
actually that 5% is probably an overestimate

Cap both at a frame rate you never drop under, then compare.avrion wrote:can't really compare it with dx11 since i'm getting lower fps with it.
Of course it will feel there is less input lag with higher frame rate...
