Does a console V-Sync?
Does a older console like a Gamecube playing SSBM run V-Sync and would there be less latency running the same game in Dolphin with Gsync?

Pretty sure EVERY console ran double buffered. Even the 16 bit nintendos. I never remember any tearing on those things.

Well, I don't know about the SNES, but go back one more generation and you don't have enough RAM to hold the entire screen resolution in a buffer, let alone double buffer it. Take the NES for example, your RAM is used for tiles and sprites, and you draw to the screen just in time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Picture_Processing_UnitFalkentyne wrote:Pretty sure EVERY console ran double buffered. Edit: SNES used a similar system, no framebuffers here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Nin ... ions#Video
