Yet another thread about input lag, but it's what we love here, right?
So I really like the look of Sharpness set at 6-7 on some games, yet I am worried about added input lag. Does anyone mind sharing that information? Has anyone tested it?
Thanks

Sharpness setting doesn't add input lag.

I'm interested in this too ! Created an account just to post a similar thread.
I think it adds input lag as anything adds input lag but I was wondering if it was < 1ms or >1ms.
I have it on 10 and it justs enhances the game

That's the same reason I created my account, as it shows. I've been lurking for over a year now, before my purchase of my Benq. This forum has helped me find my best settings and understand more about monitor technology so I'm grateful.
I trust Falkentyne so I'm going with Sharpness set on my preference, usually 7.

Re: [Benq XL2411Z] Sharpness setting, Added Input lag?
Technically, any sort of processing done on the monitor takes time, so you can say that yes, it adds input lag, but this is something that cant be measured without thousands of dollars of professional equipment. So for our sake, you can just say no real input lag is added at all at least nothing measurable directly. Maybe 1-2ms of processing time is added, but that's nothing anyone here can measure. So it's safe to say that if it feels exactly the same at sharpness 5 or sharpness 7, then to us, no lag is added. I used sharpness 10 and could see absolutely no difference in feel from 5, except more aliasing effects on the edges of objects.
This is completely different from using, lets say, 1:1 at low display scaled resolutions (Edid overrides) like 1024x768@120hz. If the OSD is set to full screen, you won't notice a difference in input lag. But if its set to 1:1 that's at least two frames of input lag (and yes you can notice that). Using a screen emulation size like 17", 21.5", etc is even worse.

flood is capable of measuring input lag differences with a precision of 0.5 microseconds, using equipment that costs under $100.
