ASUS VG248QE - Realtime Scaling or Frame Buffered Scaling?

In the past I've experienced screen tearing when using Display Scaling in CS:GO (I play on 1920x1080), and switching to GPU Scaling fixed this, as for a few other people that had the same issue. Ultimately, I was trying to determine whether Display Scaling or GPU Scaling would be best for performance. I've tried to Google this, but I couldn't find any answers: Does the ASUS VG248QE (144Hz) use Real Time Scaling or Frame-Buffered Scaling

Also, when benchmarking in CS:GO (using the timedemo method), GPU Scaling does yield higher/more stable results, but I'm not sure how much that means.

Screen tearing all ways happens unless you enable v-sync.

Use GPU Scaling then, the more performance the better!

I'm not sure about your monitor in particular but if you're using 1080p just use the GPU scaling. it's sub 1ms lag.

By 1080p do u mean 1920x1080 or 1080 pixels height resolution?

I mean 1920x1080, i don't even know if the scaler is even active or what not when using that resolution, so i would just leave GPU scaling on by default because i know it doesn't add lag (much lag <1ms)

Hmmm. Sounds like at 1:1 resolution (native monitor resolution) videocard can use display or GPU scaling but I don't see any point to do it.

Yea, but in the driver you have too choose one or the other, there is no "off" setting. And you might be right saying that it doesn't matter since it's native monitor resolution but since i know the GPU scaling is pretty much near perfect it would be safer to use that.

I've seen a good amount of forum posts discussing older NVIDIA Drivers, saying to use 'No Scaling' & 'Override the Scaling Mode Set By Games and Programs', as if that combination completely turns off scaling completely. I think it was late 200/early 300 series NVIDIA Drivers that they were referring to using.
