Post-Processing and Input Lag

Can someone please explain to me how post-processing affects input lag (preferably in great detail), especially with multiple effects and how they interact with each other.

The more framerate you loose, the more latency is added. I believe you can do a quick 1/FPS (or looking at the frame times) for determine how much latency on average is added to your graphics chain.

I don't think Post Processing adds any inherent latency beside the performance it takes away.

Edit: I found a post a while ago where they talk about this since i'm not the most educated in graphics pipelines and whatnot: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2748

Yep, it doesn't do anything special, it just adds to the overall frame render time.
