You should pay closer Attention. The Benq Zowie Monitor of your friend is a XL2730 without a
Z. It doesnt have Freesync, it has some new Hardware Features and so it is a completely different Story.
So far I havent seen any XL2730
Z with a Firmware higher than 002.

Monitor returned from RMA with firmware V002. Which is kinda odd since I requested the latest version which as far as I can tell is V005. But at least the AMA + Freesync works now.
Sorry, Falkentyne, I won't be able to try to dump the firmware.

Please remember, XL2730Z is NOT "XL2730" Zowie. The firmwares are different (wouldn't be surprised if they were cross flashable, like Zowie XL2720 V007 flashes into Benq XL2720Z easily.

But the Zowie XL2730 and BenQ XL2730Z are the same panel right?
I know from a friend with the XL2730 that it even supports freesync even though that's not advertised anywhere.
So there's a V002 firmware for the BenQ XL2730Z and a V005 for the Zowie XL2730Z. Pretty sure you could cross flash them. But I guess the only difference would be that you get the Zowie Logo otherwise I wouldn't have gotten a V002 back from RMA.

There is no tool to flash them unless you buy the RT809F flasher. It is unknown whether the older Mstar ISP device (the software should still be on the main blurbusters page) can identify the flash chip.

It would be fantastic if someone could dump the Zowie firmware v005.
@ Falken- isnt it possible to flash and dump with the Linux method on the XL2730Z?
Im still on V01 on the XL2730Z and dont really want to send it in for flashing, because I dont trust them. Dont want to end up with a different monitor, getting a different panel etc.
I have no panel issues with my xl2730z like blb etc. and I dont really want to risk getting a different unit by sending mine in for flashing.
If Linux method works for flashing, Id be willing to try to flash it myself.
