eystrain & forcing 120hz

Post by furtsiv » 19 Jan 2016, 08:21

hi there
i found this forum to be the best to explain my probleme

i have a very high eystrain when using any monitor and this for the 7th year without success to find any final solution.
all kind of technology is problem : crt, lcd, plasma, oled
i think now maybe a 120hz maybe will fix the issue
so i just bought the xl2411z and i want to connect ps4 to it but it only output 60hz

is there anywaye to force the monitor actual physical pixel refresh rate to be 120hz when connected to ps4 ?

If you have problems with all display types, you should go and get your vision tested ASAP.

There is no way to do that. The only way to get higher refresh rates is to connect it to something that feeds it a higher refresh rate signal. Consoles can't do that.

But even if this was possible, it wouldn't change anything. When you're not using blur reduction, the refresh rate doesn't matter, since LCD panels operate using a sample and hold method. The pixels do not flicker. The image is stable at all times. Also, the xl2411z uses a flicker-free backlight.

I would look into your lighting conditions in your room instead.

maybe trick the monitor to switch to 3D mode and refresh at 120 by doubling frames
but i dont know how
isn't benq blur reduction is all about eliminating blur wich can be performed very well at higher refresh rates ? i think consoles when sending 60hz can benifit motion clarity (even if strobing is off) if the monitor convert input signal to 120hz
