BenQ Xl2411Z Blur Reduction On but still have Low Brightness

Post by Erekshen » 29 Jan 2016, 20:11

Hello Guys. I recently just got this Xl2411z monitor and I really like it so far. I have been tinkering with the settings and stuff and I used a video on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvsmO5cjB6A) to try and get optimal performance out of my monitor. I followed the video exactly, however when I enabled blur reduction I noticed the brightness went way down. I followed his steps and went on to create the custom resolution and when I changed the vertical pixels, nothing happened to the brightness. My monitor really didn't get bright at all. The monitor only gets brighter when I use the Blur Busters tool and increase the ms. Anyone know what I can do to increase the brightness while still keeping my ms low?

Did you apply the Pixel clock patcher first.
Does the monitor OSD report 60hz?
if it does *NOT* report 60hz, then you didn't apply the pixel clock patcher.

if a Vertical total tweak is in use, the monitor's OSD will report 60hz (at every refresh rate, even 85hz or 100hz or 120hz; this is a firmware bug in a way). If your VT tweak and custom resolution did NOT work, it will report 100hz or 120hz, etc.

BTW VT 1502 isn't stable at 120hz. Occasionally frameskipping will result. VT 1500 and VT 1499 are fully stable at 120hz.
VT 1502 is fully stable at 100hz, however.

I did not apply the pixel clock patcher. Should I do that and then try again?

Can you provide the link please? I would really appreciate it. I am just trying to find the best way to set this monitor up. It is just way too dark with blur reduction on. If you have any other suggestions for setup, I would be very grateful.
