BenQ xl2411z CS:GO Flicker

Post by vicoon » 25 Feb 2016, 14:19

I just recently got the monitor and use Blur Busters and the 1502 trick. On the desktop its all fine but on csgo its flickering when i go around corners. I use gtx650 and have the latest drivers. 120hz is set and -freq 120 in the launch options. The same problem occurs when setting it on 60hz.

Make sure you are using ToastyX CRU to set VT tweaks. Don't use the Nvidia control panel. One person here noticed he was getting dizzy and having strange effects when using the NCP to create custom resolutions. When he switched to ToastyX CRU, *All* problems went away.

Also use VT 1500 for 120hz. it's more reliable than VT 1502. I found VT 1502 can (sometimes) cause frameskipping and a bad sync (causing a pulsating backlight at the same time as frameskipping). maybe 10-20% of the time on a resolution switch.
There is no "drawback" for VT 1500 vs VT 1502. All VT's from VT 1497-VT 1502 do the exact same thing--they sent a 1440 vertical resolution to the internal scaler instead of a 1080 vertical resolution (this is why crosstalk is reduced). The vertical blanking interval being extended by a higher vertical total is what causes this effect on the scaler.

VT 1502 is fine at 100hz.

I listed the best VT's I found, in my VT tweak and AMA thread.

Can't help with other CS:Go stuff. I don't play that game and I hate it.
