XL2411Z Best CS:GO settings

Post by donnie » 19 May 2016, 04:12

Hey all,

my first post on the forum. I just got myself a BenQ XL2411Z. Don't exactly know what firemware it is but the VT utility detects it as compatible.

I'am trying to figure out what are the best settings for CS:GO competetive playing. What resolution and other settings should I use?

I've tried the 1440x1080 custom one with Vertical max 1125 and 120hz with OSD 1:1 and it's pretty good, but some say 144hz is better. If I use the 144hz, what resolution should I use? And what other settings for colors, blur reduction and so on do you suggest me?

Thanks for all the answers.

There are no special settings.

I use SRGB with AMA high at 1080p :D

I am wondering does anybody have a good ICC profile for sharing? The colors are really terrible and inaccurate on this monitor - also they look washed out even with digital vibrance to 100% on nvidia control panel. Also I wonder what is better using 1440x1080 with 120hz and 1125 VT max and then using the blur reduction on and blur busters strobe utility to make it brighter, or just using the blur reduciton off with 1920x1080 and 144hz, while tweaking the Brightness and Contrast to lower values?

I did a quickish video on how to set the Benq Pilot software too display the most accurate colors.

You shouldn't really need a ICC profile unless you calibrate your own monitor.

Hmmm, Thanks for that video. I see you are using 1920x1080 with 120hz. That's for the strobe utility to work right? Can you paste your OSD settings aswell or so? I'll try the pilot program to see if that fixes the colors, but coming home from a Dell 27 ultrasharp IPS from work to this monitor at home feels like I am watching a renesance painting before restauration..

Back light strobing works best at 120hz. I use that or just 144hz without strobing.

The pilot program is pretty much controlling the OSD.

Well you're never gonna beat a Dell IPS but the colors that the benq come with are pretty horrid.

If you play with 1920x1080 you use Blur reduction off? Because otherwise picture is pretty dark. Also I tried to make a custom resolution 1440x1050 with VT tweak on 1502 and the ingame reported 1440x1080@60 is that normal? I am not relly sure. At the moment I am using 1920x1080@144 in CS:GO without blur reduction, and I find it pretty ok, but can't seem to live with the colors. They are really bad :( Will try to tweak with the Pilot program that you suggested.
