Monitor Information showing only 60hz

Post by departet11 » 17 Jun 2016, 08:59

Hey!
today i reinstalled my OS and configured my monitor again. After setting up a custom resolution (currently 1350, before i had 1502) i checked my monitor OSD information and it said only 1920x1080x60 instead of the optimum 1920x1080x120. I ran the shadder unlocker already and i ran the strobe utility before setting a custom resolution. When i open the test ufos on my main screen it shows 120hz refreshrate and on my 60hz monitor it says 60hz so going from that the resolution is fine but its shown wrong on the monitor osd. It even feels like 120hz when moving the mouse. Does someone else experience that? Am i really running 12ßhz or is it bugged? Anyone knows how to fix it if needed?

I got a benq xl2411 with the newest firmware i believe.

Thanks in advance,
Departet

EDIT: Might also mention that i currently play overwatch and have the settings to 1920x1080x120 and the fps cap on monitor best. With these settings the fps are capping at 120fps. Not sure if it is because of the 1920x1080x120 or the fps cap. When ingame fullscreen mode it still says 60hz in the osd tho.

EDIT2: After researching and finding http://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1633 on the bottom of the page it says 60hz on the osd is correct because of the vt tweak. Thats kinda odd since i was using it before and as i remember it still showed 120hz. My best bett is that it is correct as it is right now and it was wrong before? Still hoping for someone to confirm this.

Yes, adjusting your VT can confuse your monitor.

If it showed 120hz in the OSD, the VT tweak was *NOT* in use.

Vt tweaks force the monitor to use "60hz" (16.7ms) strobe pulse widths. This is what the OSD is reporting as 60hz as 16.7ms is the "frame time" for 60hz. When a VT tweak is active, each "point" of strobe duty increases (or decreases) the strobe width by exactly 0.167ms (16.7 ms divided by 100).
