Best setting for console gaming 30 fps @ 60hz

Post by mdzapeer » 10 May 2014, 07:20

Anyone using the the monitor for console gaming with 30 fps games, with blur reduction.

What are the best settings for the most pleasant mostly blur free image quality?

I tried dark souls 1 which is locked with 30 fps @ 60hz and there is this double image effect which flickers at 60hz any way to avoid that?

No way to avoid it and 30fps just isn't enough for anything that moves.

You might want to disable the blur reduction of your monitor in this case to get rid of the double image effect. You can also use a 120Hz mode instead. This will result in a quad image effect, but it should help with the flicker.

Not much you can do otherwise, other than using the 60FPS mod for Dark Souls (which AFAIK can break the gameplay in some spots.) I haven't played Dark Souls myself, so I don't know how well that mod works.

Did some more tests and found that disabling 60hz strobing and enabling blur reduction is better than blurring without the double image flicker, the double image is there, but it doesn't flicker.
