Yeah ive tried, its unfortunately not possible. Only tried in nvcp though, but it gives me an error message like this resolution at 500 hz and 32-bit color is not possible.daviddave1 wrote: ↑17 Apr 2024, 13:09From my understanding the lack of customisingolofsson_tom wrote: ↑17 Apr 2024, 08:50I have the monitor, running on a supra hdmi 2.1 cable and can confirm DSC is indeed enabled. Can not feel any lag however or anything bad, but i guess everything can always get better and since DSC is not needed anyway it would be nice if Zowie can offer a software update to shut off DSC whenever hdmi is used to connect and have it enabled on displayport.
Even if the only thing to come out of that is custom resolutions that would be really nice. Thank you for your persistence David!
resolutions on 540 hz has nothing to do with DSC. It's a NVIDIA driver issue. The Asus pg248qp can customize resolutions on 500hz 12 bit color DP. 1.4. This is the monitorsetting without the overclock but with DSC still on. ( if u disable DSC on the pg248qp monitor u can only have 360hz max)
Can u please check if its possible to do a custom res on the zowie with EDID on 500H ( there should be a option for this in the options. Like the Asus this will give the monitor a max of 500hz instead of 540hz.

Re: New Zowie Monitor 540Hz XL2586X
@daviddave1 Hello, I have the ASUS PG248QP and have been playing on it coming from my Acer Acer Nitro XV252Q 390HZ with VRB strobing but for some reason I play NOTICEABLY worse on this monitor for some reason, maybe it has something to do with DSC? I want to try playing with it disabled before returning to see if that's the issue. For some reason this monitor has an input lag feel compared to my Acer despite the increase in motion clarity and refresh rate.
How do I disable DSC on the PG248QP? Do I just disable the OC and put the refresh rate at 360 in the NVCP?

Actually tried again, and when i use the 500hz edid in the osd then i can use display scaling which is not possible on 540. Integer scaling also shows up in nvcp which is missing on 540. The image gets alot sharper with displaydaviddave1 wrote: ↑17 Apr 2024, 14:26tnx for checking! appreciated!!olofsson_tom wrote: ↑17 Apr 2024, 13:54Yeah ive tried, its unfortunately not possible. scaling, very different. Wonder if this means DSC gets disabled
Edit: Also, with 500hz edid tabbing in and out on native is instant, and with gpu scaling and tabbing out from non-native to native is also instant, which it is not with 540. At 540 there is always a big black screen delay. DSC must be off at 500 then right?

Re: New Zowie Monitor 540Hz XL2586X
Tnx for the update! Seems the same as with the ASUS PG248QP. On the pg248qp 500hz with custom res had DCS enabled. (Thats the setting with the overclock disabled) when u disable DSC the max hz is 360hz on the pg248qp. It's a mystery if the zowie uses DCS or not on any resolution with hdmi 2.1. It prob does on 500hz and 540Hzolofsson_tom wrote: ↑05 May 2024, 05:52Actually tried again, and when i use the 500hz edid in the osd then i can use display scaling which is not possible on 540. the custom res i play 1680x1050 cvt-rb2 at 540 hz and DSC does now seem disabled. This at the 500hz edid. 1920x1080 seems to max out at 480hz, anything higher and i get black screen. Now it is using display scaling and feels abit snappier. Image is a whole lot sharper, and best of all - no more DSC tab in/out bugs where screen goes black for minutes and you accidentally Dodge faceit matches

Re: New Zowie Monitor 540Hz XL2586X
Well, since the screen goes black at 1920x1080 540hz but not at 480 it has to be disabled. Cannot do this on the 540hz edid, only on the 500 one. No need to post the timings, they are automatic. Just pick the resolution, hz and then set cvt-rb2. Didnt work on the others, i guess rb2 requires less bandwidth The difference in image quality too is amazing. "Lossless" my ass. Would be nice if zowie could automate this and have one edid called DSC and one No DSC and just have the highest res/hz combos possible on that one. Like 1920 goes uo to 480, maybe some res can only go 500, and alot of them can go 540 if theyre lower. But i guess this would look like a failure or something i dont know. Hence the very general "whats wrong with DSC" answers from the support.daviddave1 wrote: ↑19 May 2024, 09:18Tnx for sharing! How do you know dsc is disabled? You asked the same question above when u found out you can actually make custom resolutions with edid 500. What changed that u now sure all of a sudden?
