Panelook says that the last shipment of panels was Q2 2015.
It's entirely possible that Eizo have stock of these panels and are continuing to produce FG2421 displays using them.
Don't expect any new displays (something other than an FG2421) using this panel though. Any new display will probably be using a 3000:1 AUO panel instead of a 5000:1 Sharp panel.

was just wondering does this VA panel, its g2g MS/response time/input lag will affect my performance as a competitive gamer like? im using a benq xl series which is a TN panel, wondering to switch to this hkc x3 monitor which has 120hz/144hz and better colours.

This panel is used in Eizo Foris FG2421. That monitor is known by high input lag. I guess it's caused mainly by main board (not panel).
I've talk with top Quake Live player who tried different 27" TN/IPS 144Hz monitors like PG278Q, XL2730Z, MG278Q and PG279Q.
And he said about PG279Q (144Hz IPS that can 165Hz in overclock mode). It feels worse than his old XL2410T (TN 120Hz 2ms GTG)...
