I really think people saying this are missing the point, or haven't used a VRR display.
Maintaining an absolutely constant 60 FPS 100% of the time is almost impossible to do in modern games - especially at 4K resolutions.
Even if the game drops from 60 to 57 FPS, it's going to stutter and/or tear badly.
As long as you are actually targeting 60 FPS with your graphics settings, a window of 50-60 or even 55-60 should make a massive
difference to how smooth games are.
I can't think of the last time a game which was tuned for 60 FPS on my system ran at anything below 50 FPS.
But I absolutely hate it any time the framerate drops below 60. (on a regular 60Hz display)
Below about 45 FPS is a bad experience no matter what display you're using, so a VRR window that only goes down to 40Hz is fine.
