I want this monitor cause it's cheaper then what I was looking at just want to use it for gaming at 4K.
I was wondering if I can use it at 144hz or will it default to 60hz with a Nvidia card?
How does Nvidia card react to a FreeSync Monitor?

You won't be able to use FreeSync with an NVIDIA GPU.
Not like FreeSync would have been a massive bonus with such a narrow VRR window anyway. (40hz-60hz as indicated in the article you linked)

Yes, you can use all features except for FreeSync.

I really think people saying this are missing the point, or haven't used a VRR display.Haste wrote:Not like FreeSync would have been a massive bonus with such a narrow VRR window anyway. (40hz-60hz as indicated in the article you linked)
Maintaining an absolutely constant 60 FPS 100% of the time is almost impossible to do in modern games - especially at 4K resolutions.
Even if the game drops from 60 to 57 FPS, it's going to stutter and/or tear badly.
As long as you are actually targeting 60 FPS with your graphics settings, a window of 50-60 or even 55-60 should make a massive difference to how smooth games are.
I can't think of the last time a game which was tuned for 60 FPS on my system ran at anything below 50 FPS.
But I absolutely hate it any time the framerate drops below 60. (on a regular 60Hz display)
Below about 45 FPS is a bad experience no matter what display you're using, so a VRR window that only goes down to 40Hz is fine.

If your frame counter indicates 50fps, you are almost certainly getting frames in there that are way above 20ms.Glide wrote: I can't think of the last time a game which was tuned for 60 FPS on my system ran at anything below 50 FPS.
