Very in-depth response, also a good read too very informative thread you linked. Thank you.

I found a supplier which is selling the Asus PG279QM, is this monitor similar or the same as the previously recommended ASUS PG27AQN?

The PG279QM was the one that came before the PG27AQN. It was one of the best monitors at the time. It won't be 'as quick' as the PG27AQN, nor will it include ULMB 2 but for it's price, definitely worth it. I would say go for it.
I guess for the price its really not worth it for a non oled monitor, may as well go for the OLED if I am considering spending 1.2k on a monitor. Either go for the Oled rog or the msi 240hz 1440p ips (if pbtech hopefully restock it)
If budget is an issue, go for the MSI one or the PG279QM. But if you can push your budget then definitely go for the OLED. Let me know your first and later impressions of your next monitor.
What is the overall opinion on the LG Ultragear 27GR95QE Oled 240hz monitor compared to the rog? I have seen asus have a pretty bad customer service reaction from people who got bad panels, burn in issues etc online. Is the LG Comparable at all? It is also a bit cheaper in NZ

The LG Ultragear 27GR95QE was one of the first OLED monitors from around this time a year ago. Prior to the 27GR95QE, there were no traditional OLED monitors that you could buy (other than maybe a very very small handful that were not high refresh rate or suited for gaming.) While there was of course OLED TVs, this is of course different than a traditional computer monitor.

From what I can tell via reviews it's a good panel but isn't as bright as the PG27AQDM. Some people also didn't like the matte material finish on the screen either. I wouldn't bother with the 27GR95QE personally since you would be getting better brightness and cooling value out of the PG27AQDM.

Hi long time since I last updated but I ended up pulling the trigger and purchase the lg 240hz oled monitor as I had an idea that OLEDS were immune to ghosting over all. I know you recommended not buying it and going with the asus but pbtech had a large sale where it was $1400 instead of $2100 so I thought it was a decent deal. The asus has also been out of stock at PBTECH for months now. The monitor produces a very good picture but for some reason the ghosting issue is not fully gone it near looks the same as my old monitor Samsung g7. I’m not sure if the issue is a hardware issue as I’ve had a new pc and this issue was happening on my old computer and even older monitor the Asus pg258q. I will post a new thread with in-depth specs and videos of what it looks like in different games etc. Pretty disappointed as I was thinking OLED was the goto monitor to fully eliminate ghosting..

Hello there, a few years ago i was having a issue where I was calling it motion blur (it was ghosting) on the asus pg258q I think was the name since then I got a Samsung odyssey g7 240hz 1440p 27inch monitor and have felt the same ghosting issues in competitive games, mostly fortnite and csgo

I was just wanting some recommendations on a solid 240hz 1440p monitor I have read the IPS panels are regarded as better then VA when it comes to ghosting and was wondering if that could be the resolution to all my issues. All responses and recommendations are appreciated, I am based in New Zealand so I don’t have access to the wide range of monitors that are sold in the US but have a majority :)
