OSD showing wrong/different resolution when game has lower res?

Post by xShino » 03 Feb 2024, 13:18

I always wondered why my ASUS VG279QM shows 1920x1080 in OSD when I play CS2 with 1440x1080, even when I am using/changing "No Scaling" or "Fullscreen" in Nvidia Control Panel. Is this normal?

Bonus question:
I've seen multiple comments talking about monitors having multiple native resolutions. But when I try to google how to find out which native resolutions I have, I can't seem to find anything. What does this mean?

Where are you seeing those comments you mentioned? Are they from Reddit? Because people in Reddit don't know anything about computers. Monitors have one native resolution and you can consult the manufacturer's specification to find out what it is.
