Yeah, ram disks don't seem very useful. You can spend time loading the entire game to the ram disk before you start playing so you don't have as long of initial loads during game, but meh. It doesn't seem worth the effort when SSDs are already so fast.

That's not the case with MMOs but they are an outlier.
