144\120hz via HDMI?

Post by FyFox » 11 Jun 2015, 13:09

Hello guys! im new to the site, i've read so many stuff on it and it really helps me out sometimes!
I do have a problem, that you guys might be able to help me.
I own a laptop, Lenovo y50-70 with Geforce 860m. the only problem about this laptop.. is.... its HDMI. Yes, this laptop has only 1 output and its HDMI. (1.4a).
I was thinking about buying a 144hz monitor (BENQ XL2430T) but i came a cross that HDMI 1.4a can only 1080p 60 FPS.
I did look around, i've seen people saying hdmi can work with 120 hz (1.4a).
I've seen people saying it can only work on 1024x768 on 120HZ.
rest says HDMI 1.4 cant get more than 60hz no matter on the resulotion.

Is there anything i can do in order to get 120\144hz via my laptop? I've also been looking for an ACTIVE ADAPTER from HDMI to DVI dual \ Display port. but the only thing i came a cross was the oposite.. ( DVI dual link \ display port to (>) HDMI ).

Any help please? maybe there's something that i dont know about?
( i do know about the hdmi 2.0 (1.4b), but will it work on my laptop? (as far as i know my laptop is 1.4a).
Well? is there anything? or i am doomed with 60hz for life.. :)

Thanks in advance!
