Asus mg248q
Asus mg248q
I want to get a 144hz 24" 1080p monitor for Overwatch. The mg248q monitor recently got released and I haven't really seen any reviews for it. Was wondering how this compares to the ViewSonic XG2401 and benq xl2411z in terms of image quality as they are are all around $400 in Canada. Also, the Asus and Viewsonic monitors both have freesync, but is it worth it over the benq blur reduction? I have read that freesync has problems with ghosting.
Re: Asus mg248q
All these 144Hz TN monitors based on same TN panel. Difference in color calibration and overdrive quality (bad overdrive quality means bad ghosting). From my experience ASUS has best overdrive quality, Acer worst.

Re: Asus mg248q
Why do you say Acer has the worst? Acer does a better job then most. IPS or TN

Compare these overdrive too anything Benq makes.

By my own experience with 24" 144Hz TNs like thread started asked. Your link are about another panel.lexlazootin wrote:Why do you say Acer has the worst? Acer does a better job then most. IPS or TN

I was wrong. This monitor is based on never seen before model - AUO M240Q007 V0.
"Confirmation the Asus MG248Q is using an AU Optronics M240Q007 V0 panel (TN Film). That's a new panel we've not seen listed before"

Re: Asus mg248q
So... it's been a couple of months... any updates on this "new" panel the ASUS is using? Better? Worse? Sideways? None of the above or unsure???

Meh, it's alright.
The colours are not that great and the overdrive tends to overshoot or undershoot too much. Still better then Benq will ever release.
The Asus MG279Q, Acer XB270HU, Dell S2716DG and Swift PG279Q are also good monitors to look at.

Re: Asus mg248q
Thanks.
As far a "meh" - seems to sum up most of the $300ish 24", 144hz space.... or at least that is how BB characterizes it - the 24" 1080p space seems to be a "dead end" for recommendations here. It appears the best 24" 1080p monitor measures 27"......
...and of course nobody would argue your point about Benq, thanks for the objectivity.
I have checked out the monitors you mentioned, thanks, problem is they are all $250 to $500 north of what I want to spend.
