What exactly were you trying to do?

How did you get a 451.72 MHz pixel clock at 144hz, and why?

What timings did you use for that? (you didn't show them). I have no idea what you're trying to achieve.

Those timings are impossible.

1) Driver will revert to 6 bit color (6 bpc) if Pixel clock exceeds 359.99 MHz over displayport. (DVI does not allow bpc selection)

2) 144 hz can not use such timings. That pixel clock is invalid. It's impossible to get a signal like this.

You're using the default extension block in the second screenshot. 144hz as well as lower refresh rates (like 60hz) are stored in the extension block. Your bizarre 451.72 MHz pixel clock with custom detailed resolution isn't even being used.

Daniel, your timings don't work.
It's using the default extension block. Check your screenshot. The default extension block has the stock timings for 144hz (LCD reduced).
In your very first screenshot, you had "no extension block".

Your custom resolution is being over-ridden by the default extension block.

Select "no extension block", then add 60hz refresh rate (LCD native or LCD automatic) and move it to the top above the 144hz.
Then restart driver, try to use 144hz.

You will get a black screen.

Read the rest of the urut thread. His timings never worked. It was a bug with the Nvidia drivers. It was "GPU scaling" 144hz to 180hz (if that even makes sense).

Ah, you can't do scaling at 144hz refresh rate.
Only at 120hz and lower.
You also can't do scaling at native resolution (1920x1080). The only type of scaling you can do at native refresh rate are screen size emulations (like 17", 19.5", 22" etc).

Scaling only works if the resolution (vertical) is below 1080.

If you are trying to use 1440x1080, to get 1:1 (black bars at left and right) it's a bit difficult.
With display scaling (EDID toastyX CRU override) I have only been able to do this at 120hz, but I don't have the timings as I am not at home right now.

With GPU scaling its easy.
Just create 1440x1080 (any refresh rate), enable GPU Scaling in video card panel, then select 1:1 in Catalyst Crimson or CCC.
