like from 0 to 85, 85 is something insane xD
i will try to play with blur reduction from service page + OD gain value and see what best result will be.

Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz
Does it increase by steps of "1"?
Because in the XL2730Z, there were only FIVE possible values. I think 00, FF, 0C and some other hex value.

Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz
it is hex values but increases by 1, a LOT of values, like even above 100 i'm kind of afraid to go higher
25-30 value looks EXACTLY like 60 TraceFree from ASUS (i have second monitor next to this one).
noticed that when BLUR REDUCTION is enabled OD value is set on 23 even when AMA is HIGH (no BR value is 42). so it is special "AMA Low" for Blur reduction?
As for me, since i dont even use BR - problem is mostly solved by setting OD value to 25.
Also SRGB mode from this factory menu looks interesting, it can set RGB value higher than 100?
Also, what values on certain addresses is responsible for?
For examble 40h has value 16, 41h - 77, 43 - 08, 44 - 03.
is it some settings stored on monitor memory?
Can anyone with XL2540 (and other Benq's) check this test?
http://www.testufo.com/#test=flicker&co ... height=240
do you see vertical RGB lines or color is 100% solid?

Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz
Ouch.
Those pictures.
That looks like my XL2720Z when I have "Lightboost (3d mode)" strobing enabled and then I switch refresh rates, which turn off Lightboost, when blur reduction was on by default. When it switches directly from Lightboost to Blur reduction, it looks like the AMA is super excessive--exactly like yours.
That's higher than Trace Free=100 on my old Asus VG248QE.
Nice you found that setting. You should PM Chief. Masterotaku would be pleased IF he had an AMD card.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE CONTACT BENQ AND ASK THEM TO INCLUDE--MAKE FOR DOWNLOAD--UPLOAD--IMPLEMENT A FIRMWARE TO ADD THE MISSING 'SINGLE STROBE 60HZ-85HZ' OVERRIDE PLEASE???
PLEASE!!!!!!!!
Call them:
1-866-600-2367
Just bug them.
If enough people complain about "Missing 60hz single strobe override" On XL2735 and XL2540, I'm sure they will "Stealth re-add it". We will need the firmware though. Just the RAW bin file.
this is the only thing that is stopping me from buying one of these monitors right now!!!

Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz
ok, playing with OD value. Note that i'm taking pictures with my phone, so blur amount might not be accurate.
This is default "AMA High" value (240Hz, BR Off)
OD set to 30

Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz
Huge improvement.
Can this work with blur reduction enabled?
I can get my XL2720Z to look like that (with blur reduction off) by exploiting a bug only:
1) enable blur reduction.
2) Go to OSD AMA and overwrite the "high" setting by moving the cursor to another setting and back.
3) Disable blur reduction by activating a profile preset that has blur reduction disabled in the profile, do not use the OSD to turn off blur reduction.
Then I can make blur reduction off look good like yours.
Default:
Improvement (profile bug exploit)

Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz
it does work with blur reduction enabled, btw even with BR setting in service menu - setting value still saves when you save it to profile.
but the problem is - there is 2 copies of UFO when BR is enabled, so even with AMA 30~ setting it does look bad. i'm not sure about why this happens, double strobe?

Can you take a picture? (please).
Also test 120hz and 144hz just to make sure.

Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz
240Hz Blur Reduction - no AMA.
240Hz BR AMA OD 25
144Hz BR AMA OD 28
120Hz looks same as 144Hz.

Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz
WOW
YES IT IS DOUBLE STROBING AT 240HZ !!!!!!!!!!
It's doing two 120hz strobes, or either a long or short strobe.
[EDIT; Chief Blur Buster -- NO, it is not double-strobing. It's simply unusually strong strobe crosstalk because 240Hz refresh cycles eat very badly into 1ms GtG.]
