27" 144 hz 1440p - New Purchase

Hey all,
I've been reading around, looking for a new monitor as I think my current 144hz monitor is on its way out (might just be a bit rubbish!). Was originally looking at the BenQ range but from reading your posts, this might not be the best one to go for?

Topic says most of my requirements :

• 27 inch
• 144 hz
• 1440p
• This might sound odd due to the above, I mainly play cs go though....
• Nvidia family gpu
• I don't tend to worry about budget

I think all the different techs have me a little confused as to the direction I should be taking and you guys know your stuff.

btw I have question: Is Dell S2716DG with it's G-Sync overdrive beats BenQ XL2730Z (or BenQ ZOWIE XL2730) with motion clarity? Of course without enabling ULMB or BenQ Blur Reduction.

The Asus ROG Swift PG279Q is pretty on point and i can't find much wrong with it, it has a IPS display that looks pretty nice, if you want a TN the Dell S2716DG is also a good choice.

Q83Ia7ta it should be about the same as motion clarity is pretty much dependant on how long a frame is seen by your eyes (Persistence) You can change this by rasing your refreshrate or lowering the persistence time with BBR or ULMB. I know it's not the XL2730Z but i have the XL2420G and these were my results.

at 144hz with both Classic Engine and G-Sync i get
MMCR: 170 MPRT: 5.9ms

OC 153hz G-Sync:
MMCR: 193 MPRT: 5.2ms

OC 196hz G-Sync (This is very hard to do because of how fast it moves and non-default sizes and thickness gives bad results):
MMCR: 235 MPRT: 4.3ms

Thanks for theory I already. I'm not interested in current strobing techs because of input lag. You just wanna say the raw performance of overdrive and visual clarity is almost same at XL2420G and must be same at S2716DG and XL2730Z/XL2730?

What's the performance like on these IPS vs the TN's? I have a IPS for photo editing and I admit, it is glorious on the colours (could have probably killed two birds with one stone if I do go down IPS 144 hz). Just a little worried about the performance vs say the PG278Q using ULMB. I guess other choices on the IPS front are the Viewsonic XG2703-GS or Acer XB271HU.

170Hz Asus PG248Q almost default settings, OD: Normal (OFF/Normal/Extreme available):
MMCR: 232 MPRT: 4.3ms

IPS is a little slower then TN so ULMB might not work as well at 120hz but all of these monitors are all pretty sweet. I would be happy if i got any of them.

I would probably go with the Viewsonic XG2703-GS as that one is 'Native' 165hz so the overdrive might be a little better compared to the monitors that are 165hz "overclockable" like the Acer and maybe the Asus?
