Hello guys,
Is there any real tweak for the XL2720T ???
I tried the lightboost via strobelight toastyX, I think its kinda good but I cant get used to the colors and the darkness. Even after trying every settings, it just dont seems "OK".
Any way to get a brighter image with lightboost enabled ?
Thanks
BENQ XL2720T Tweaks ?
Re: BENQ XL2720T Tweaks ?
my tweak for you create res 1440x1080 CVT 60hz and use 144hz i have xl2720z its use no scaling from driver give me the best movement and image Quality its more Sharp its like my CRT i just love my xl2720z so much with this settings and make sure the display use Gpu Scaling enjoy low latency and every single latency on mouse movement Thank you Falkentyne
Re: BENQ XL2720T Tweaks ?
I've already a custome res 1440x1080 for stretched CSGO, but I dont know what you mean by "CVT 60hz and use 144hz"
Plus my monitor is the 2720T not the 2720z, I assume I cant go 144hz.

Re: BENQ XL2720T Tweaks ?
There's nothing to lose by trying to create that resolution.
1920x1080. CVT/reduced (or use toasty X CRU and do it instead)-->LCD Reduced.
Vertical Total: 1098
Refresh rate: 144hz
Horizontal total: 2008 (just use LCD Reduced dropdown box in Toasty X CRU to get it).
The pixel clock should be 317.49 mhz.
If it doesn't work, just delete it after trying to test the resolution and reboot.
BTW XL2720T should also be able to run 2560x1440. You can try this.
2560x1440
Vertical Total: 1500
Horizontal total: 2720
Refresh rate: 100hz
pixel clock 408.00 mhz
Use toastyX pixel clock patcher if using DVI.
There may be a bug with displayport on that firmware stopping any >60hz operation. You have to contact Benq for a fix.
The Z series monitors had the same bug until firmware V004.

Re: BENQ XL2720T Tweaks ?
Nothing works.
I tried with nvidia panel 1920x1080 @ 144hz with the timing you gave, got 317.49 mhz but still out of range.
2560x1440 @ 100hz my screen went crazy and did some picasso art ^^
Anyway I'm playing on 1440x1080 now @ 120hz, too bad I cant have the benefit of strobelight with nice colors

Re: BENQ XL2720T Tweaks ?
Ok that means the panel can't run at those timings. The scaler can, it's Mstar 8556T, exact same as the Z series one. Seems like the XL2720T uses a CMI 120hz panel while the XL2720Z uses a AUO M270 panel. That's why your firmware accepted 2560x1440@100hz but can't display it.
You can try it again with the lowest horizontal total value possible: HT 2641, but Picasso art at HT 2720 means 2641 isn't a low enough pixel clock. If you only got faint sparkles at 100hz then it might work. I get sparkles at 115hz at HT 2720, but HT 2641, VT 1500 at 115 hz is just barely fine.

Re: BENQ XL2720T Tweaks ?
1440x1080 stretched, your choice. You have to create the custom res. I suggest you use the NVCP because the vertical is the same size as native, so there are difficulties getting 1:1 scaling to work in the OSD (display scaling) when using a 1440x1080 resolution sometimes. (use GPU scaling).
Re: BENQ XL2720T Tweaks ?
Yes I'm using gpu scaling, always, but should I use custom timing or automatics ? thank you
You said 1440x1080 your choice (like its a bad choice ? ^^), so I'm now asking myself if I could have any improvement using 1920x1080 120hz with automatic timings ?
EDIT : found this post http://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1758 for my 1440x1080 it explains a lot ty
