144 Hz Monitor Switching to 120 Hz sometimes

Hey everyone,

I own a ViewSonic XG2401. Sometimes the refresh rate switching to 120 Hz automatically. It's not happening often, just rarely (like sometimes twice a week, sometimes once a month). When it happens it happens right after a cold boot most of the times. To switch back to 144 hz, I usually have to turn off/on the monitor, since the 144 hz option won't be in the display settings at that moment. But also it switched back to 144 hz automatically or when I start Radeon settings a few times before. After switching back to 144 hz, the problem never repeated itself in the same Windows session.

So any ideas, what could be the cause of this? Monitor issue? Driver issue? Windows issue? A random unexplainable weirdness?
