AOC G2460PF issue. Need help!

Post by nikolai_3 » 19 Dec 2016, 10:02

Hi there!

So I bought the G2460PF 144hz, FreeSync display about a month or two ago. Connected it with my old GTX 770 via DP that was in package @ 144 hz and.. issues started. Main problem at that moment was the clicking sound from the back of display, also it was going "no signal" randomly for 1-2 seconds (while browsing or gaming, especially gaming). Sometimes there were gray lines across the display when this clicking sound came. When those issues are not in the place (oh! happy times) there is another issue that bothering me... this is blurriness and hard ghosting effect even when I'am scrolling some windows menus (Windows 10). That blurriness/trailing/ghosting problem occurs @ 144, 120 and 100hz. At 60Hz all looks better, but common! I bought it for 144hz/Freesync options!

When I connect it through DVI-D @ 144hz, 120hz etc., any clicking sounds, "no signal messages" ,ghosting or trailing are nonexistent!

I've owned another 144hz display prior to that (BenQ XL2411Z) and the motion clarity was much better there as I remember.. even if compare it to DVI-D connection which do not cause any problems.

I'am thinking of RMA. But the holidays are coming and I'am afraid that I would wait for a month or two until they will replace that garbage with the proper one (Estonia...). So I decided to describe this problem and may be someone would suggest something that I have not tried yet before I'll send it back to shop. Thank you in advance! :)

Here are short description of what I've already tried:
-3 different display drivers (1 offical, 2 beta's)
-2 different AMD GPU drivers
-updated all drivers I can
-different windows (win 7, win 8.1)
-bought another GPU - RX 480 8G from Sapphire (to enable FreeSync)
-tried Freesync on and off (no effect)
-switched power cables, dp cables, tried another a/c outlet
-reset monitor osd settings to factory defaults

My pc specs:
Intel Xeon E3 1231 V3 @ 3.8Ghz
MSI H81-P33 with latest bios
2x4 1600Mhz DDR3 1600Mhz RAM
Samsung EVO 840 128 SSD / 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm HDD
Corsair CX600 80+ Bronze PSU
Sapphire RX480 8GB @ 1306Mhz (stock out of the box)

Are you sure you plugged the DP connector correctly? It must go all the way in and lock in place (it has a clicky sound when it locks in.)
