I'd like to see how the LightBoost 10% setting works, its negative impact on colour, especially on blacks during dark scenes.

I don't mind so much about colour accuracy. I like it when it's dark on a screen, with whites slightly greyish. I can't stand a bright screen. But yes, I had issues in dark scenes (movies & gaming) with my old Asus WV220, but it could have been a mere matter of watching angle, I don't know.

Anything superior to the VG248QE among 1440p and 27" in terms of what I'm looking for?

The ASUS VG278H used for the test maybe? At least it's 27". Edit: Now they sell the VG278HE

I decided to go for lightboost 10% at first, and then lightboost 50 or 100% if black levels make the picture hard to watch. But I have to make a decision on a monitor first. Sorry to be so picky and insisting , it's just that this time I want to avoid mistakes as much as possible. Please...

I'd rather have a 27" for many reasons, but I won't sacrifice blur elimination and other artefact elimination to that, especially considering that the bigger the screen the bigger the flaws appear (I guess). So if the VG248QE is better than any 27" similar monitors at eliminating blur, ghosting, and other artefacts I will go for it.

You can also look at:
Dell S2417DG (TN 24" 1440p 144Hz G-Sync) 460 EUR
Dell S2716DG (TN 27" 1440p 144Hz G-Sync) 620 EUR
there is also:
AOC AGON AG241QX (TN 24" 1440p 144Hz FreeSync) 390 EUR
AOC AGON AG241QG (TN 24" 1440p 144Hz G-Sync) 535 EUR
AOC AGON AG271QX (TN 27" 1440p 144Hz FreeSync) 515 EUR
AOC AGON AG271QG (IPS 27" 1440p 144Hz FreeSync) 700 EUR
Prices are from computeruniverse.net

Both of Dell have a bit another motion blur reduction method called ULMB. AOC ending with QG have G-Sync and ULMB.
I had only Dell S2417DG and can say it has much more better colors than any BenQ 24" 144Hz and I guess than VG248QE also.

I'd rather have a clean motion, I'm not used to that blur and artefact thing. maybe in 50 years time rectangular tearing, ghosting and blur will become somehow folkloric, vintage, just like today with black and white movies, or low bit definition from early computer image rendering:
http://youtu.be/q9HzqxwKfiM
http://youtu.be/LkTTb4IBCNQ

But those artefacts were somehow dominated, domesticated, used in the process of artistic content creation. People were wearing black or white suits in b&w movies, video-game creators tried to provide a smooth and pleasant experience rather than focus on high performances.

I'm not a gamer, rather a film lover. So for now I'd rather stay away from these new salvage artefacts. I'm too distracted, annoyed, sicken by them. It's also probably because I'm an irascible, short-tempered prick, but I want to get rid of them even if that means poor colours. It's like I red somewhere on a gaming forum "Stop already milking us with gsync and other 4k crazyness, just give us 480p 1000hz smooth gaming experience." (He probably didn't know about pixel persistance though :)

But again nonetheless if you know a 27" that will behave exactly like the VG248QE or better, I will go for it.

I want to get something clean, then one day get something that will do the same job better with better colour accuracy and better resolution, but first it has to be clean. It's my philosophy (if one can call that "philosophy" ;) )

LightBoost is not usually good for movies unless you're playing 120fps HFR movies or SVP-enhanced (24fps -> 120fps with fake interpolated frames). Strobe backlights in LCD monitors (or any low-persistence display) work best when frame rates matches refresh rates.

Also LightBoost monitors, are typically TN panels, which are wonderful for fast-response gaming but has poor-colors for movies.

However, if you are extremely sensitive to all sorts of artifacts, it's wholly possible that a strobe-backlight monitor can work well. Ideally, you'd probably prefer a 72Hz strobe backlight (triple flash) -- something doable with a BENQ XL2720Z. The VG248QE LightBoost only works at 100Hz or 120Hz, and requires ToastyX Strobelight to easily enable (hack, as LightBoost was originally designed for 3D glasses operation) while BENQ Blur Reduction on XL2720Z monitors can work at any refresh rate 60Hz through 144Hz -- for this, it would probably be the best and clearest 60fps (60Hz strobe) and 24fps (72Hz strobe). However, adjusting the strobe may be frustrating (crosstalk reduction)

Are you looking for a larger display? Have you ever tried, say, Sony Motionflow Impulse or other 60Hz strobe backlights that can be enabled in certain HDTVs? They are a form of black frame insertion via backlight strobing (instead of interpolation/fake frames). RTINGS.com tests for this feature, as seen at http://ca.rtings.com/tv/tests/motion/image-flicker

Indeed, it seems the XL2720Z is better than the VG248QE and more customisable thanks to the utility you provided, can the XL2720Z also give me the crt-like experience with that perfect ufo at 960pixels/second? The only thing is I can't buy it anywere exept in one or two places where it's above 500 euros. :|

By the way I have an AMD GPU, HD 7850 with 2gb memory, will the result be the same as It would be with a Nvidia GPU on a VG248QE?

And how come the VG278H with it's 2ms response time doesn't have a trace of at least one pixel more than the 1ms?
