Hello,

Currently, nobody around here has successfully firmware-upgraded an XL2540 monitor. Although reportedly, one person was able to use a tool (similiar to one used for XL2420Z upgrades) to make a firmware backup of an XL2540 monitor.

In the long term, monitor manufacturers really, really need to make there monitors easily firmware upgradeable. Modern advanced features (GSYNC, strobing, etc) can make a monitor buggy, and it is ideal if the monitor can be field-upgradeable.

V2 firmware fixed the broken "Intensity" (Strobe persistence) setting in the service menu. It was changing brightness in V1, not persistence. I don't know what else was fixed. Benq NEVER gives changelogs.

The only way to attempt to upgrade the firmware yourself is to buy this device and see if you can flash it over HDMI. Note that while the firmware was DUMPED correctly over HDMI with the Jan/2017 software driver, NO ONE has tried actually flashing it yet. If you flash it and you brick it, you're on your own. I take NO responsibility.
