Thanks, I'm gonna try that, post here later!Falkentyne wrote:Please do what Chief says and try another graphics card or another computer first. It should be EXTREMELY Easy to find another computer. The Benq monitor is extremely light. You can carry it around with you; it has two carrying handles on it.
It's a very big chance it is the monitor, as you did say that you tried another Benq with it.
Did you try using TOASTYX CRU, running RESET-ALL.exe (part of CRU), and then downloading Wagnard's DISPLAY DRIVER UNINSTALLER, uninstalling video drivers with it in SAFE MODE, and then reinstalling?
This is free and I suggest you do tis.
While the monitor COULD have died, it could very well be the video card going south. This is not the first time this has been known to happen.

Re: XL2720Z w/ artefacts above 60Hz
Artifacts above 60Hz (including blurriness) is usually bad DVI cable -- behaving only as single link DVI.
Find a different (better) cable that is capable of full-bandwidth dual-link DVI. Or instead, switch to DisplayPort.
Undocumented, but 1080p@144Hz over HDMI 1.3+ also usually works too (if directly from supported graphics card, directly to supported monitor input) as it kind of behaves like a dual-link DVI connection if you connect to a supported graphics card to a supported monitor. "It does not always work, it is not guaranteed, but it can get you up-n-running faster" -- if your only other cable is a very good HDMI 1.3+ cable.

I'm gonna test the Display Port. Another question. I'm not an expert in the subject, sorry if it's sound stupid, but there is a possibility of the GPU, or some peripherals on monitor's USB have made the monitor defect? I mean, the GPU via the DVI DL cable... or the periphereals via the USB PortChief Blur Buster wrote:Artifacts above 60Hz (including blurriness) is usually bad DVI cable -- behaving only as single link DVI.

Re: XL2720Z w/ artefacts above 60Hz
The Benq series before the XL2730Z do not support 120hz over HDMI above 1280x720 (dual link operation). The TDMS chips in the monitor only support single link operation (1920x1080@74hz). There is a Korean monitor from that Z series heyday era (it was posted in the General section a few years ago) that does support 1920x1080@120hz over HDMI.Chief Blur Buster wrote:Artifacts above 60Hz (including blurriness) is usually bad DVI cable -- behaving only as single link DVI.
